Favorite hot sauce, get the carne asada they do a great job seasoning it.

Great taco salad with chicken. Shell a little stale, but overall tasty!

This place looks a little funky from the outside but has amazing food. The carne asada is the best on the island and you can get it in any dish. I love the chicken guacamole salad with the carne asada instead! There are great kid options and the folks behind the counter are so nice and helpful! They also do catering!

I love this spot! They give superb dishes, they have a rich menu, The chef in that restaurant is very experienced, I love very much trying all their dishes. The food is always of high class, the service towards the guests is efficient. I frequently visit this place and I was never disappointed. I recommend it with no hesitation.

This place is on point. Delicious Mexican at a great price. They are closed on Sundays however.

Found this great hole in the wall spot in Alameda. It's now our favorite local spot from Oakland. Great burritos and nachos.

I like that it's closeby when I want to eat something but don't want to walk too far for it. Usually I get burrito but the other food looks pretty good too friendly service.

Great food, consistent. They passed out soup samples today, 2 of 4 varieties. They were so good we bought a quart of one, and a pint of the other.

The best in this restaurant is the fish tacos, but unfortunately I cant say the same for the pupusas they don't do good, I think is because they are not Salvadoran so anyway don't try the pupusas they don't taste good. I'm Salvadorean and is that the reason I can tell why this pupusas on that restaurant there not good taste.

Since my favorite Mexican restaurant was bought out, El Caballo wraps has become my go to place for quality Mexican food in Alameda.

This place is great! However my order is wrong half the time and I always order the same thing (Chicken and Shrimp super Burrito with no guacamole & no pico de gallo) I think this might be a result of me calling in my order so with that said I recommend that you place your order in person.

Great Mexican food... Awesome catering for 20... Carnitas taco station

Okay place. Ordered the tortilla soup but it was more like minestrone. I've never had yellow and green zuchinni in this soup and the broth was very chicken brothy. The cheese on the side was parmesan like. No corn or avocado and very few black beans. Pricey at $10 a container with more than half broth. Not very authentic to me, but nice folks tho.

Great burritos and friendly service. Their chicken tortilla soup is delicious. Their agua frescas are very good too.

Chicken Enchilada soup, street tacos al pastor, and their pollo asada super burrito are all great! Good people and great Mexican food.

Wonderfully nice folks, fresh good food made to order, and quick service to boot. I like that they have lengua as well as al pastor on the menu. Horchata isn't cloyingly sweet and their house made salsas have a lot of character to them, not just heat. Big portion size, but the food never leaves me with indigestion or heartburn like a few of the other Alameda Mexi restos because its not heavy/greasy.

Small place but decent food. We ate outside on the sidewalk. Service was relatively fast and friendly. I ordered the cheese quesadilla, and was pleased.

Owner was very welcoming and nice. Shared many samples of their soups with me before I even had a chance to order, all very tasty. I ordered a reg burrito, very good. I'll be going back soon.Update: been back to this place many times now, nothing on the menu has disappointed yet.

Fantastic burritos!! They are HUGE!! Like doorstops! Their green sauce in bottles on the tables is excellent for a flavorful mild sauce. Its delicious on the tortilla chips you can munch on while waiting for your order. Its even better on the burritos!

The best basic Street Mexican that you can get in Alameda

Food was excellent except for lack of salsa with the chips.Seating area is small with no customer restrooms. Perfecr for take-out.

Great service. Staff friendly and accommodating. Eventhough I showed up near closing time, there was no attitude and my food was prepared freshly and quickly. It was tasty and food amount seemed fair for the price.

Just go here!, its good. El Caballo serves up delicious food, no frills (except for the plates that seem too nice for the prices), great service, big menu. I'll def be back. I got the chicken caesar wrap and the chicken tortilla soup. The soup was the highlight but the "wrap" (it was really a burrito with caesar dressing in it) was also effing good. I'll be back. Everything here is delicious. My favorite is the tortilla soup. Rudy's enchiladas and chicken caesar wrap are also good.

Fast and very tasty Mexican food. Love their veggie tamales! Inconsistent portions and an occasional minor error prevents me from giving 5 stars.

Excellent service. The workers were extremely nice. The regular burrito was huge and tasted really good. The hot sauce was also on point 👌🏼
